Soviet Union's T-43 medium tank

Design

The T-43 first appeared in 1943.⁴ Many of the components were taken from the T-34.⁴

Improvements were a new torsion-bar suspension that replaced the coil springs.⁴ The torsion-bars took up less space than the springs.⁴

Variants

• T-43: Similar to T-34/76D with increased armor and new 5-speed gearbox. Were soon replaced by T-34/85.
