Aberdeen Tank Museum
The Rock Island Arsenal (US government owned) designed this tank to share components with the M2 Light Tank to help with standardization.1
Several alternate forms were built before a standard was set.
Had a single 37 mm gun.1 It fired a 1.91 lb round at a muzzle velocity of 2,600'/sec.3
T5E1 (Phase I) Medium Tank
Had 2 37 mm guns.1,4 The 37 mm guns were short.3
T5E2 Medium Tank
Had a 75 mm pack howitzer which was hull mounted.1,4
T5 Phase III Medium Tank
Was the original pilot model, and had a larger engine and wider tracks.1
