Like Mk III but with cast turret. 84: 6 pdr. Early versions had Mk 5 6 pdr with counterweight on end.

First saw action in Tunisia.13

With the experience gained in North Africa, and the fact that the 6 pdr. had no high explosive ammunition, it was decided to instsal the 75 mm gun and mantlets from wrecked Shermans.7,13 21st Tank Brigade, 1st Army in North Africa fitted 120 Mk IVs with these 75 mm guns.7

Used in Sicily and Italy to 1945.
