The British Army wanted a 4x4 command vehicle that could be used as a mobile headquarters.1

Guy won a development contract in 1939.1

Chassis

The Guy Lizard 4x4 chassis was used.1

Engine

A diesel Gardner engine was used.1

Prototype

The Guy Lizard prototype was an open box with the command area able to access the driver's position.1

Production

30 were ordered to be produced.1

Usage

Most of the Guy Lizard command vehicles remained in Britain, though some were sent to the 8th Army in North Africa as one was captured by the Italians.1
