Design

The Piaggio P.119 was the last Italian design that flew before Italy surrendered.

Since 1938 Piaggio worked on designed for an aircraft that would have the engine in the middle of the fuselage with a long shaft to the propeller in front.

Construction

The Piaggio P.119 was of an all metal construction.

Prototype

Construction on the prototype started in 1941. It first flew on December 19, 1942.
