Design

The Caproni Ca.101 was based on the Caproni Ca.97, which was a commercial transport manufactured starting in 1927.

There were four bomb racks.

Usage

Ethiopia

Caproni Ca.101s were with the La Disperata squadron in Ethiopia led by Count Galeazzo Ciano. Mussolini's sons, Bruno and Vittorio, and a nephew, Vito, all flew Ca.101s with La Disperata.

Paraguay

A few Ca.101s were purchased by Paraguay in 1933.
