Germany's Unit Strengths
These are very approximate as to what the units were supposed to have in strength. As the war wore on most units were well below assigned strength.

| Army Detatchment | 2 or more corps, temporary headquarters between corp and army |
| Corps | 2 or more divisions |
| Corps Detatchment | 3 division groups |
| Division | 10,000 to 18,000 men 150-200 panzers |
| Brigade | 2 or more battalions |
| Regiment | Normally 2 or 3 battalions |
| Kampfgruppe | Usually regiment in size |
| Battalion | 2 or more companies (300-600 men, or 17-60 tanks) |
| Company | 3 or 4 platoons (80-100 men, 8-15 tanks) |
| Platoon | 20-30 men, 3-5 tanks |
| Section | 2 squads |
| Squad | 7-10 men, 1 tank |
