Germany's PzKpfw IV

30 of the 3,935 chassis built were used for the StuG IV and 130 for the Brummbär. New sprocket of welded and webbed construction, external air filters8, all steel return rollers8, side skirts, new idler8, and skate rail for AA MG8. Has a new transmission. Late production vehicles had 85mm armor replacing the belted or welded armor of earlier vehicles. The vision slits for the gunner and radio operator were eliminated8 as they would have been useless with the skirt armor around the turret. The commanders hatch in the cupola was now a one piece cover.

The AP round of the 75 mm gun weighed 15 lbs. and had a muzzle velocity of 2,461'/sec.11

In March 1943 production on the Ausf H started.8 It was first model to have Zimmerit paste applied in the factory.8
