Sixty B1-bis vehicles had their 75 mm gun replaced by a flame-thrower from November 1941 to June 1942.

The fuel was carried in a 30 mm armored tank on the rear.

Had a FuG5 radio installed.1

One platoon was given to the 213th schwere Panzerabteilung for occupation duties on Jersey and Guernsey. The 223rd Panzerkompanie took 12 to the Crimea in the summer of 1942. The 7th SS Prinz Eugen also used some in the Balkans.
