Design

The Junkers Ju 88D was based on the Ju 88A-4 airframe.1

The Ju 88D had cameras and extra fuel in the bomb bay.1

All of the dive bombing equipment was removed, including the dive brakes.1

Variants

Usage

The Ju 88Ds were used by Germany, Hungary, and Romania.1

From 1940 on, the Ju 88Ds were used in all of Germany's campaigns.1

Hungary

Hungary received Ju 88D-1s in 1943.1

Romania

Romania received Ju 88D-1s in 1943.1
