Improved R-35 with new suspension system.
Sometimes known as the AMX-40.
AMX R-40:
Experimental model with AMX running gear that consisted of 12 small road wheels, suspended on 6 vertical coil springs on each side.1
Some were armed with 37 mm Sa38, and/or trench crossing tail. Suspension system was designed by AMX with armored side skirts.
Two battalions saw action in 1940.
