The most produced and used trainer that the United States produced was the North American AT-6. It was used by over 40 countries all the way into the 1990s.

United Kingdom's Miles Master and Martinet trainer added

The Miles Master was the premier advanced trainer for the Royal Air Force during World War II. The Miles Martinet was used as a target tug.

United States' Fairchild PT-19, PT-23, PT-26 trainer added

United States' Boeing-Stearman Kaydet trainer added

The most produced biplane used by the United States in World War II was the Boeing-Stearman Kaydet. It was used by the Army and Navy as a trainer.

United States' Beechcraft C-45 Expeditor, AT-7 Navigator, AT-11Kansan transport added

Not only did the pilots need training in the air, but so did the navigators and bombardiers. For the United States the plane that fulfilled this training the most was the Beechcraft AT-7 and AT-11. It was also used as the Beechcraft C-45 transport.

United Kingdom's Avro Anson trainer updated

Many countries during World War II used the English's Avro Anson trainer.
I've added more detail production information and specifications.

Germany's Arado Ar 96 trainer added

Probably the most produced German trainer in World War II was the Arado Ar 96. It was so popular that two companies produced them after World War II.

United Kingdom's Airspeed Oxford ("Ox-box") trainer added

Even with all the famous bombers and fighters used in World War II, those pilots had to learn their trade in a plane such as the Airspeed Oxford.

Soviet Polikarpov U-2 / Po-2 bomber, trainer

Well before World War II, Polikarpov designed the U-2 trainer. It was produced from 1928 to 1944, then again from 1948 to 1953. In 1944 its name was changed to honor its creator, it became the Po-2.
